Diceoku is fast, addictive and challenging to expert sudoku players and to novices alike. That is why its a perfect game for all the family. There are several ways of scoring the most points, its not just a simple race to enter 81 numbers in a standard sudoku grid - that is why its catching on so quickly.

Perfect
With over 5 billion solutions, try and fill your score sheet to achieve a perfect sudoku grid, scoring 90 points for all the rows, all the columns and all the boxes plus any bonuses you achieve. Keep an eye on your opponents as they might be racing to the end, which will stop your game rather abruptly. However, most players start out trying to get to this eutopia of sudoku perfection, just keep an ear to the ground and an eye on the dice, spot an opponent who is cursing under their breath as they realise perfection is not going to happen in their game and a race is on!

Hoard
Most players will be able to successfully fill in the entire grid, well at least 3, 4 or 5 boxes before making a sudoku mistake. It might happen to you and you quickly realise that optimum points are not for the taking. So one strategy is not to buy any more numbers and try to accrue all the tokens in play.  Each token is worth 5 points and with 20 tokens available, it can really help towards you being the highest scorer. It also then means the other players end up with no tokens to buy that elusive number they need to progress, so it's a really good strategy and slows down any one wanting to adopt the sprint philosophy, giving you a really good chance of getting the 30 point bonus for finishing first.

Sprint
Some players just like to be mean and nasty by quickly filling in the squares, achieving some bonuses along the way. But this method will mean they will probably be prepared to forgo the perfect grid as their aim is to get to the finish first. This stops play and gives them a bonus of 30 points, whilst scuppering opponents chances of a really high score.

Hassle
It has been noticed in play testing that as the boxes are completed one by one, the pressure mounts as concentration levels heighten. Some players like to rush and hassle the active player who is trying their hardest to work out their number placement.  This in itself creates 'game anxiety' which significantly adds to the addiction levels of the game...remember when you roll the dice, you work out what numbers you want and it's up to you to pass the dice on to the next player, but only when you are ready! So don't be hassled!
